ARTICLE 74: LIGHTS OF MOTORCYCLES AND MOTORCYCLES

1. Tricycles must have:

a) One or two passing lights

b) One or two rear position lights

c) One or two brake lights

d) One or two non-triangular reflectors on each side

e) A non-triangular rear reflector

f) Two reflectors on each foot lever, when they are not foldable.

Two-wheeled mopeds can also be equipped with:

a) One or two running lights

b) Two direction indicators on each side

c) Lights for the illumination of the registration number plate

d) One or two position lights in front

e) A non-triangular front reflector.

2. Three-wheel mopeds and light four-strokes must have:

a) One or two passing lights

b) One or two position lights in front.

Three-wheel mopeds with a maximum width of more than 1300 mm must have two front position lights.

c) One or two rear position lights. Tricycles with a maximum width of more than 1300 mm must have two rear position lights.

d) One or two non-triangular rear reflectors. Tricycles with a maximum width of more than 1000 mm must have two non-triangular rear reflectors.

e) Two reflectors on each foot lever, when they are not foldable.

f) One or two brake lights. Tricycles with a maximum width of more than 1300 mm must have two brake lights.

g) Two direction indicators on each side, for three-wheel mopeds with a closed body.

Tricycles can also be equipped with:

a) One or two running lights

b) Two direction indicators on each side, for three-wheel mopeds without a closed body

c) Lights for the illumination of the registration number plate

d) One or two on each side non-triangular reflectors.

3. Two-wheeled motorcycles must have:

a) One or two running lights

b) One or two passing lights

c) Two direction indicators on each side

d) One or two brake lights

e) One or two position lights in front

f) One or two rear position lights

g) Light to illuminate the rear number plate

h) A non-triangular rear reflector.

Two-wheeled motorcycles can also be equipped with:

a) One or two front fog lights

b) One or two rear fog lights

c) An emergency light

d) One or two on each side non-triangular reflectors.

4. Two-wheeled motorcycles with a side canister must have:

a) One or two running lights

b) One or two passing lights

c) Two direction indicators on each side

d) One or two brake lights

e) Two or three position lights in front, one of which is in the basket

f) Two or three rear position lights, one of which is in the basket

g) Light to illuminate the rear number plate

h) Two non-triangular rear reflectors. Also, two-wheeled motorcycles with a side basket can also be equipped with:

a) One or two front fog lights

b) One or two rear fog lights

c) An emergency light

d) One or two on each side non-triangular reflectors.

5. The motorcycle and basket electrical system must be constructed in such a way that the position lights (front and rear) of the basket illuminate at the same time as the rear position light of the motorcycle.

6. The lights provided for in paragraphs 3 and 4 of this article must meet the specifications in terms of color, intensity and placement, which are determined for the corresponding lights of motor vehicles, etc., except for mopeds, which they must have lamps of moderate intensity.

7. The person who puts into circulation, as well as the person who drives a vehicle from the above, which is not equipped with the above prescribed lights, which operate in accordance with the provisions of this article, shall be punished with an administrative fine of one hundred and fifty (150 .00) euros.
